Two ways to connect

Choose how your cameras reach the cloud

Both options will run the same AnyAiCam Cloud Gateway software and connect to the same AnyAiCam cloud. The difference is the computer it runs on.

Option A · Software Coming soon

Already Have a Computer? Use It as Your Cloud Gateway.

If you have a compatible Windows or Linux computer, you will be able to download the AnyAiCam Cloud Gateway software from our website and install it yourself.

  • Finds compatible IP cameras on your network
  • Connects using the ONVIF and RTSP camera standards
  • Detects motion events
  • Briefly holds motion clips on the computer
  • Uploads clips securely to AnyAiCam cloud storage on AWS
  • Supports cloud AI analytics
  • Secure remote access to your authorized live cameras and recordings

No 30-day video archive needed on your computer. You will still need enough processing power, memory, temporary storage space and internet upload speed. Will your computer work?

How it works

From your camera to your phone

The gateway sits on your network next to your cameras. It watches for motion, saves short clips, and sends them to your secure AnyAiCam cloud account.

  1. Your IP security camerasKeep the cameras you already have
  2. Your computer or Ryzen 5 GatewayConnects to cameras and detects motion
  3. Motion-triggered clipsHeld briefly on the gateway
  4. Secure AWS cloud storageClips upload securely to your account
  5. Cloud AI analyticsRecordings analyzed in the cloud
  6. Your phone or web browserSigned in to your AnyAiCam account

Live viewing takes a different path. When you open a live camera, the planned system creates a separate, secure, on-demand connection between your gateway and your phone or browser. Live video is not stored in cloud storage, and the connection closes when you stop watching.

STEP 1

Connect

The gateway finds compatible cameras on your network and connects to them with your camera login.

STEP 2

Detect

It watches for motion. When something moves, it saves a short video clip of the event.

STEP 3

Upload

Finished clips are held briefly on the gateway, then uploaded securely to AWS cloud storage.

STEP 4

View & analyze

Cloud services are planned to analyze recordings, and you can review them from your authorized AnyAiCam account.

Cloud storage & recording

Motion Recording Without a Full Local Video Archive

Traditional recorders keep weeks of video on a large local hard drive. The Cloud Gateway is designed differently: it records when there is motion, holds those clips only until they are uploaded, and keeps your recordings in the cloud.

  • Records motion events, not around-the-clock footage
  • Uses a small amount of local SSD or hard-drive space as a temporary buffer
  • Uploads automatically, with no manual steps
  • If your internet drops for a short time, clips wait on the gateway and upload once you're back online
Planned service designPlanned
Recording typeMotion-triggered clips
Local storageTemporary buffer only, until clips are uploaded
UploadAutomatic, encrypted transfer to AWS cloud storage
Internet outage recoveryClips held locally and uploaded when the connection returns, while buffer space remains
Daily motion footageUp to 6 accumulated hours of motion-event video per camera per day
Cloud retention30 days

These are planned service specifications. They are subject to final product validation and may change before launch.

Please note: no recording system can guarantee uninterrupted recording. Footage may be lost if the gateway or cameras lose power, if an internet outage outlasts the gateway's temporary storage, or if local storage fills up.
Cloud AI analytics Planned

Smarter alerts from the cloud

Because recordings arrive in the cloud, AnyAiCam plans to analyze them there, so your gateway doesn't need to do the heavy AI work. Examples of analytics we're developing:

Person detection

Know when a person, not just movement, is in view.

Vehicle detection

Spot cars and trucks arriving or leaving.

Smart Motion

Fewer alerts from leaves, shadows and rain.

Intrusion detection

Alerts when someone enters an area you choose.

Line crossing

Alerts when something crosses a line you draw.

License plate recognition

Read plates on vehicles entering your property.

Loitering alerts

Know when someone lingers too long.

What to expect at launch

Not every analytic will be available at launch. Some may need additional live-video processing or a different service tier.

Phone & browser viewing

See what matters from anywhere

Sign in to your AnyAiCam account on your phone or computer to review what your cameras captured. Only people you authorize can see your cameras.

Recorded clips

Browse motion-event clips stored in the cloud, organized by camera and time, for up to the planned 30-day retention period.

Live view on demand

Tap a camera to watch it live through a separate, secure connection to your gateway. Live view works while your gateway and internet connection are online.

Alerts

Receive notifications when motion or a planned analytic is triggered, then jump straight to the clip.

Using your own computer

Will Your Computer Work?

How well the Cloud Gateway runs on your computer depends on your computer and your cameras. We'll publish tested requirements once performance testing is complete. Until then, these are the things that matter:

ProcessorHandles video from every camera
Memory (RAM)More cameras need more memory
Free storageRoom to hold clips before upload
Number of camerasEach camera adds workload
Resolution & bitrateHigher-quality video means more data
Local networkA reliable connection to your cameras
Internet upload speedClips must upload faster than they're created
Always onThe computer must stay powered on and awake

Computer compatibility check Coming soon

We're planning a tool to help you check whether your computer is a good fit before you install. It isn't available yet.

See the Ryzen 5 option

If your computer isn't a good fit, or you'd rather not leave it running all the time, the dedicated Ryzen 5 Cloud Gateway is designed for exactly that.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can I get the Cloud Gateway now?

Not yet. The Cloud Gateway software and the Ryzen 5 Cloud Gateway appliance are both in development. Nothing on this page can be downloaded or ordered yet. Contact us if you'd like to hear when they're ready.

How much will it cost?

Pricing for the software, the appliance and the cloud service hasn't been announced. We'll publish it before launch.

How many cameras can one gateway handle?

That depends on the computer and on your cameras' resolution and bitrate. We'll publish supported camera numbers only after performance testing confirms them.

Do I need a big hard drive?

No. Your recordings are planned to be kept in the cloud, not on the gateway. The gateway only needs enough free space to hold clips temporarily until they finish uploading, including during short internet outages.

Does it record 24/7?

No. The Cloud Gateway is designed to record and upload motion events, not continuous footage. The planned service allows up to 6 accumulated hours of motion-event video per camera per day, kept for 30 days. These figures are subject to final validation.

What happens if my internet goes down?

Clips are planned to wait on the gateway and upload automatically when the connection returns, as long as there's enough temporary storage. A very long outage, a full disk or a power failure can still cause footage to be lost.

Will my existing cameras work?

The gateway is being designed for IP security cameras that support the common ONVIF and RTSP standards. Compatibility with specific camera models will be confirmed during testing.

Can I watch my cameras live?

Yes, that's planned. Live viewing uses a separate, secure, on-demand connection from your gateway to your phone or browser, available to people you authorize while the gateway is online.

How is this different from an AnyAiCam VMS appliance?

AnyAiCam VMS appliances record and keep video locally on site. The Cloud Gateway is designed to send motion clips to the cloud instead of keeping a full local archive. See AnyAiCam Appliances for the local VMS option.

Which hardware will the Ryzen 5 Cloud Gateway use?

It will use an AMD Ryzen 5 platform. The exact model, memory and storage will be confirmed after testing. Images on this page are illustrations.
